Retrospective of Achema 2022

At the 2022 Process Technology Exhibition, more than 2,200 exhibitors from more than 50 countries showcased the new equipment and novel processes for the process industry. More than 70,000 participants from 127 nations visited Achema. In eleven exhibition groups, suppliers showcased new product developments for the chemical, pharmaceutical and food processing industries, ranging from laboratory equipment, pumps, compressors and other components to complete packaging lines. The accompanying congress provided supplementary information on future trends, as well as on practical issues, in numerous presentations.

Focus on modularity, digitalization, sustainability and process reliability

Sustainability was one of the present topics at Achema 2022, above all energy and resource efficiency in times of Ukraine war and climate change. Many exhibitors developed their new components, machines and systems in this direction. Solutions for the use of hydrogen were also present in many places, as were digital systems that noticeably simplify the operation of plants in the process industry. For example, exhibitors showed smart glasses that use augmented reality to enable machine and plant operators to rectify faults independently on site and thus prevent unpredictable downtimes as far as possible.
